Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30 (NKJV)
Whatever you focus on in life gets bigger.
Let’s say that there’s a tack in your shoe. The more you focus on that tack, the bigger the pain gets. Yet, if suddenly a bear is chasing you, you forget all about that tack and run as though it’s not even there.
We have to be careful. If we focus too much on our emotional pain or loneliness, those feelings will begin to take over. Now, I’m not saying that you should completely ignore those feelings. They can be symptoms of something you need to deal with. However, we can’t make them our primary focus.
Changing the deepest beliefs of your heart will change your physical health as well as how you feel emotionally. Out of the deepest part of your being, the peace of God the joy that is His will begin to rise up. Begin to speak the powerful Word of God. It’ll give you a foundation for change. Then continue to feed yourself the Word of God, and day by day you begin to move in the direction of freedom.
Jesus said My yoke is easy, my burden is light. He came to give you joy and to defeat all the works of the enemy. You have an incredible life ahead of you! Never give up, because as you walk with God, He will lead you into a life with peace and joy established on the firm foundation of His Word.
