There’s Always Hope With God!

David encouraged and strengthened himself in the Lord his God. 1 Samuel 30:6 (AMPC)

God is in the business of making the impossible possible. Even if you are facing a situation that seems hopeless, there is always hope with God.

In 1 Samuel 30, David faced an impossible situation. An enemy army had raided their camp while they were away in battle, and had taken their wives and children captive. The odds of finding where their families had been taken were slim, and the odds of winning the fight against the large army that had captured them, even slimmer.

Although David was unbelievably distraught, he strengthened himself in the Lord. He looked to God for what to do and was assured, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all” (v. 8).

Even though they were incredibly exhausted, David and his army set off to find their families. On their way, they came across a man who was dying of hunger and thirst. Taking pity on him, David gave him food and water only to find out that he had stumbled across an incredible “coincidence.” The man had been a slave of the very same enemy who had raided the Israeli camp! Once he regained his strength, the slave led David right to the enemy army.

When you’re facing something that seems impossible, remember that although God wants you to do what you can, He will do what you can’t.

David was kind to someone in need; God led him to someone who was the key to his victory. David fought bravely; God secured his victory despite impossible odds.

God is working within you and around you to make the impossible possible!
