Joy Is In You

But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; let those also who love Your name be joyful in You. Psalm 5:11 (NKJV)

In every believer’s spirit is a force called joy, which comes from the presence of God. One of the best things we can do to begin to tap into this joy is to just choose to be joyful. Because even if you don’t feel joyful, joy is in your spirit.

If you get up in the morning and don’t access that joy, you’re approaching your day without the strength you need. But if you choose to access joy in the morning, you will have strength to handle problems at work and at home, and the issues you face wherever you go.

Sometimes you might need to go somewhere you can be alone and jump or dance for a while to access that joy. Maybe you need to go for a walk or listen to some music. Figure out what works for you and then do it every morning. And there may be days when you need to do it in the middle of the day and in the evening too.

Don’t let a day go by where you relinquish this joy, because you need that strength to deal with life. Remember, today’s verse doesn’t say, “Rejoice and shout for joy if you feel like it.” It says, “Be joyful.” If God’s Word says to be something, then you can be sure that you’re empowered to be it. Tap into that joy today!
