Prayer And Worship Go Hand In Hand

Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. Philippians 4:6–7 (NLT)

We’ve been on a series about the eight different types of prayer over the past few days. As I mentioned before, these don’t work in isolation. In fact, the prayer of worship is one type of prayer you need to use in every situation!

For example, let’s say you’re struggling with a health issue. After praying the prayer of faith by claiming that healing in your life, don’t stop there. Worship Him too! Praise God for healing you even if you don’t have any evidence of that healing yet. Every day, continue to be thankful that His healing power is at work in your body.

If you’re struggling to make a decision about something such as a career move or a new relationship, pray the prayer of dedication. Trust God to show you what to do, but don’t forget to worship Him too. Thank Him ahead of time because He definitely will give you direction. Praise Him for who He is in your life and for what He’s about to do.

If you’ve come to the end of what you know to do but your situation isn’t resolved yet, pray the prayer of commitment. If you’re having trouble in a relationship, for example, trust God to get involved as you continue to learn and grow. Give Him your worries, then spend some time worshipping Him. Your stress and anxiety will begin to melt away as you focus on Him and His power for your situation.

As it says in our verses today, don’t worry; pray and thank God for all He’s done. You’ll experience not only His peace, but also His miraculous power in your situation.
