Light-seeds are planted in the souls of God’s people, Joy-seeds are planted in good heart-soil. Psalm 97:11 (MSG) We all have beliefs that hide below the level of our conscious awareness. These beliefs direct our lives. One could be limiting your financial success; another might be damaging your relationships or your peace of mind. Each belief is accompanied by a corresponding picture. If you believe that you will never get ahead financially, for example, your picture of the future will be of yourself living at the same standard of living. You won’t be able to imagine going away on holidays or sending your kids to university. You will have a debt-filled, poverty-minded picture stuck in your heart. Your heart can also hold positive beliefs. As …
Imagine Where You’re Going
This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success. Joshua 1:8 (AMP) You need to be able to imagine where you’re going if you want to get there. Whenever we want something different to happen in an area of our lives, we need to develop a new picture for that area. For example, let’s say that you want to decrease your debt and better your financial situation. If all you can imagine for your future is unpaid bills piling up and …
Staying In The Moment
I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds. Psalm 77:12 Do you ever have trouble staying in the moment? One minute you’re enjoying time with friends; the next you’re worrying about your to do list. You set aside time to pray; then find that you can’t stop your mind from wandering. Do you know that meditation can help you build the skill of enjoying life in the present? Now, when I mention meditation, I’m talking about biblical meditation. When you set aside time to meditate on God’s Word, it builds your ability to focus, which helps you to stay in the moment. Try meditating on God’s Word at least 15 minutes a day, four times a week for the next …
Learning To Be Led
Blessed (happy and to be envied) rather are those who hear the Word of God and obey and practice it! Luke 11:28 (AMP) Learning to be led by Holy Spirit is incredibly exciting and rewarding! Holy Spirit can show you things you would have no way of knowing any other way. He can work through you to bring healing to others, give you direction and inspire faith that would be impossible on your own. We’ve been discussing how we can train ourselves to hear from Holy Spirit more clearly, and so far we have covered two ways: 1) Meditate on God’s Word and 2) Develop an intimate friendship with Holy Spirit. Today let’s discuss a third way: Obey instantly. The key …
The Best Kind Of Friend
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. 2 Corinthians 13:14 Working with Holy Spirit isn’t complicated. Yesterday we covered one way you can train yourself to hear from him more clearly: meditate on God’s Word. Today we will discuss a second way: Develop an intimate friendship with Holy Spirit. You can get to know Holy Spirit much the same way that you get to know any person. Spend time with him. Ask his opinion. Tell him how you feel. Have a dialogue, not a monologue. Talk to him when things go right and when they go wrong. James 4:2 says we have not because …
