Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. Daniel 10:12 We’ve been on a series of devotionals about angels, and today I’d like to cover a very intriguing topic: how to get angels to act on your behalf. First of all, we need to look at this the right way. It’s not that we have to earn angelic help or any of God’s promises. When we give our lives to Christ, we inherit the right to begin to walk in his promises—and this is a progressive faith journey we continue to grow in for our entire lives. …
New Look At Angels
See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven. Matthew 18:10 Over the last few days, we’ve been discussing how God’s angels serve those who have given their lives to Christ. If you’re a believer, chances are angels have been working on your behalf, even if you’ve never seen one. One misconception about angels is that we each have a guardian angel assigned to us. While angels do guard and protect us, there’s no evidence in the Bible that we each have one specific guardian angel. The Bible talks about multiple angels around us. Matthew 18:10 mentions these angels, and Psalm 91:11 says that God …
Angels Aren’t Always Obvious
Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. Hebrews 13:2 We’ve been on a series confronting a few misconceptions about angels. Today let’s cover a few more. First of all, I want to make it clear that nowhere in the Bible does it teach us to pray to angels or talk to invisible angels. As believers, we pray to our Father God, in Jesus’ name. And while angels appear to very few people (one has never appeared to me), it would seem that when they do, they can take different forms. Sometimes when angels appeared in the Bible, the sight was so awe-inspiring that people fell to the ground in fear. Other …
Angels All Around You
But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail and brought them out. “Go, stand in the temple courts,” he said, “and tell the people all about this new life.” Acts 5:19 –20 The Bible contains so many beautiful stories about angels. Today let’s take a look at what happened when an angel appeared to the apostles in the Book of Acts, because I believe it will inspire you. At the time, word had begun to spread about the apostles. People would bring their sick into the streets to be healed, and the High Priest and the Sadducees didn’t like this at all. They arrested the apostles and had them put in jail. During the night, God did the impossible. …
Angels Fight On Our Behalf
For it is written: “He will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully.” Luke 4:10 Isn’t it incredible to think that God has commissioned his angels to protect us, his people? In fact, angels have always fought to protect God’s people. In one Old Testament story, God’s people had been called to go out and fight, under David’s leadership. The instructions David received from God were very specific: wait until you hear the sound of marching in the leaves of the trees. Only then would David’s army know that God’s army of angels had gone out before them to defeat their enemies (2 Samuel 5:24). And angels still protect us today! These angels are under God’s command, but I want to clear up …
