Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. Psalm 91:3–4 Are you ever afraid that you’re going to fall into a dangerous situation you didn’t see coming? Today’s verse says that God will protect you not only from things you see coming at you, but also from the things you don’t see. God will save you from being ensnared, says verse 3. A snare is a type of trap which uses a noose made of wire or cord, hidden where you can’t see it. Even when danger is hidden from you, you can be protected! It …
Claim Protection Today
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:1–2 Over the next few days, we’re going to unpack Psalm 91, because once you understand what it promises you, it’ll change your life. Verse 1 begins by showing us that we need to place ourselves in God’s protection and blessing. If you want to be in someone’s shadow, you have to get close to them. So if you want to be in God’s shadow and dwell in his shelter, get to know God. It’s not that you’re trying to earn the right to be next to him. …
God’s Word Is Powerful!
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11 (NKJV) Today I’d like to tell you a story to encourage you to stand in faith for God’s miraculous help in your life. I was at school, in grade one or two, when my stomach starting hurting. I lived in a small town where it was common for kids to walk back and forth to school unattended, so my teacher released me to walk home alone. As I was walking, the stomach pain became more and more intense. When it got to the point where I …
Your Prayers Are Never Forgotten
The angel answered, “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God.” Acts 10:4 Yesterday we covered one way we can position ourselves to get angelic help: by speaking God’s Word. Today let’s go to Acts chapter 10 to discover another way. In this story, a soldier named Cornelius was visited by an angel of God. This is a very interesting portion of scripture because the angel told Cornelius that he had built a memorial before God through his giving and his prayers. A memorial is something we build to remember. We have memorials built for those who have given their lives for our freedom so that we never forget their sacrifice. This angel was telling Cornelius that …
Angels Obey God’s Word
Bless the Lord, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the voice of His word. Psalm 103:20 (NKJV) Yesterday we discussed how angels obey God’s Word. The reality is, when you speak God’s promises over your life in faith, angels to go to work! When you speak God’s promises, which are yours as a believer because of Jesus, you are in agreement with what has been promised to you. As you begin to believe, you begin to walk out those promises in your life. You don’t receive God’s promises just because Jesus died for them. You need to believe that they are yours, claim them and then walk in them. The same is true with becoming a member of God’s family. …
