Your Best Friend In Life

The amazing grace of the Master, Jesus Christ, the extravagant love of God, the intimate friendship of the Holy Spirit, be with all of you. 2 Corinthians 13:14 (MSG)

We were designed not to just know there is a God; we were designed to be in relationship and fellowship with Him. Without that relationship and fellowship, we can feel like orphans.

There is a void within every human being that nothing on this planet but a relationship with God can satisfy. We need to know that He loves us deeply and personally, because nothing else compares to His love. We also need to realize how much He values us and wants to be in our lives, because His love and care are what give us the ability to love others unconditionally.

Today’s verse mentions three key aspects to your relationship with God. First is the grace of Christ, which in part refers to the fact that you don’t earn this relationship on your own merit but instead rely on Christ, who has made it possible for you. Second is the extravagant love of God, which we need to accept and renew our minds to in order to experience it and share it with others. And third, it refers to the intimate friendship with Holy Spirit.

How is it possible to be conscious of being in fellowship with God all day, every day? It’s possible because Jesus sent Holy Spirit to dwell in the hearts of every believer, so He’s with you and in you always.

If you were to build an intimate friendship with someone, what would it require? Spending time together? Doing things together? Talking and listening? Relying on that person and building trust in them? You can do all of these things with Holy Spirit, your ultimate friend!
