When you gave your life to Jesus, an incredible event took place, an event that is often downplayed.
Most people understand that this decision means they are saved from hell and are going to go to heaven one day. This is wonderful, but there’s even more. You see, this Christian life isn’t about living a painful life here on earth until one day when you get to Heaven.
You don’t have to live with debilitating low self-worth, anger issues or addictions. You don’t have to settle for shallow, distant relationships or feel like you don’t belong. These are all part of the old nature—the one that died the day you gave your life to Jesus.
You are no longer trapped in these thoughts. You may think that God is frustrated and angry or indifferent with you. Or maybe you feel as if you have to try to become someone He can love. All of those things are not true.
When you decided to follow Christ, you became a treasured child of God!
So, what does a true son or daughter of God look like? Barely getting by? Hanging in there just hoping to make Heaven one day? No! This Christian life is far greater than you can possibly imagine, and it’s not about you trying to become something you’re not.
Living the Christian life that Jesus died and rose again to give you is about renewing your mind to know who you already are through Christ. This is a powerful process that involves revelation about who you really are and what you can do as the King of kings’ kid.
You see, you have been made brand new, and the new you is stunning.
